Yes, yes~ It is TIME to give some juicyy details out!
- The website name is mangasaurus. Cute, right? ( Kiss that, Bruce Wane. )
- It should come out in April.
- We will have a 'public upload' feature. You probably will have to register first.
- And a 'fast view' feature. The graphic/website designer is frigging genius. And generous, too. HIEL ROB.
- A 'Favorites' feature will be included as well.
- There will be hentai. Moar perverts in our community.
- As for the community, we will use SMF (Simple Machines Forum). And we're sticking with this one.
About the hentai hint up there, you probably would have to have some (non-spam) posts, in order to read hentai. We haven't decided on how many yet. There will be an easy way out though, which is donating. I don't agree with the premium membership myself, but I guess it could help out the community... although it might not sit well with some group scanlations. Anyhow, there will be a special place for donators, somewhere on the site. Also, for top uploaders. : D
Oh and, we'll have a several theme layouts for the site. One of them will be all hentai-ish.
Post 'BOOBIES' if you're that excited.

ReplyDeleteWhy? Is there a special reason why you need to post to read the hentai? Or is it purely a commercial matter as a way to get revenue?
If to read hentai you'd have to post then you might see some effects:
1. Useless forum posts (Causing unnecessary load on the servers). Try to police that and you might waste manpower.
2. Because of the policy you might drive away a lot of users.
Speaking as an entreprenuer, on a new website like this is going to be-occupying a niche and being relatively unknown at the same time, you should focus on getting readership up and getting those pageviews. I know costs are an issue but nobody likes to pay for anything on the Internet that they can get for free.
My 2 cents. Anyway good luck though. JY!

ReplyDeleteI wonder if the site could have multiple rating system (an internal and an external). Ratings on the site, mainly those of lesser read series, will be based on the opinion of just a couple of users, if so. What about using ratins from baka(manga)-updates for example?

So, the mangahut site's been completely shut down for over a week now, which mean's the psycho's finally realized that people hate what he did and he can't just wallpaper over it.
ReplyDeleteI don't give a crap about him, but I hope you guys are careful getting new moderators/admins when mangasaurus goes live - he seems like the kind of internet nut who'd take a random nick, sign up to help you guys then try to sabotage you.
As for policy, I suggest coming up with some reward for people who donate, but not to have a *premium* service with a monthly fee. Soliciting donations won't tick off scanlators the way a subscription fee would.
ReplyDeletePerhaps have something like x-percent of the donation pool goes towards one of the sites that can be commissioned to do a translation (or uncensoring for hentai manga) of a raw, and donating entitles you to access to those translated specials.

Yeesh, what a crappy webmaster and second-rate programmer. He didn't do ANYTHING for the re-launch, he just changed the name.

Wow. Went to investigate as to what happened at MH and noticed this website. I am astonished with all the support and teamwork going on. It's quite rare to see so many people fired up about something like this, with strangers on the internet no less.

unbelievable, every manga site is getting hit with Google AdSense Banhammer any manga with tags varying from Lolicon and yaoi, to the simple Adult and Mature is getting erased from the sites! or at least suspended indefinitly.

ReplyDeleteAnd I can read those mangas perfectly fine in the sites I just tried. Some sites just suspended them to avoid getting their adsense account banned. But they will be back; it's just seinen, relax.
